The Bulk-Priced Food Shoppe – Our Story

In July of 2004, The Bulk-Priced Food Shoppe opened its doors with a simple but powerful vision: to bring unique foods and a small-town shopping experience to Greenville, WI. At the heart of it all was Brenda Hungerford – a devoted mother of three with a big dream and an even bigger desire to work hard and succeed. When a retail space became available for rent in Greenville Liquidators, Brenda jumped at the opportunity to begin her journey as a small business owner. With the help of her husband, Rob, her mother, Marlys, and her best friend, Sarah, she launched the store with just 240 items on the shelves and her preschooler, Hannah, often by her side.

In just three years, the store had grown to offer over 1,500 products. With space running out, Brenda purchased the retail building and began a major renovation project in 2008. By 2009, The Bulk-Priced Food Shoppe had moved into the expanded location where it still stands today, continuing to serve Greenville and beyond with quality goods and friendly service. As the business grew, Brenda hired a dedicated team – including her children, husband, and even some of her old high school classmates-making the shoppe truly feel like family.

By 2023, the shelves were stocked with over 5,000 products, and e-commerce had become a vital part of daily operations. After 19 years of leading the business, Brenda made the heartfelt decision to pass the baton to her son, Aaron. With years of experience working at the store and previous background in finance, economics, and business management, he officially took ownership in July of 2023. Working closely with his mother, he continues to build on her legacy, strive for excellence, and provide the quality service that has always made the store so personal and inviting.
